Benjamin Bae

Bass-baritone

ABOUT

Benjamin Bae is a recipient of the Margot Fassler Prize in the Performance of Sacred Music (Yale University, 2022).  He eagerly anticipates a year-long appointment with the choir of Canterbury Cathedral, where he will serve as the bass choral scholar during the 2024–2025 program year, under the direction of David Newsholme.

Benjamin began making music professionally at the age of nine,  singing with the internationally renowned Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys, then under the direction of John Scott.  During his time with the choir he sang five services per week, recorded professionally, toured throughout the United States, performed at commercial locations such as Tiffany & Co. and sang for several formal occasions, most notably the memorial service for Sir George Shearing.
